Music Room – Writers Have Many Interests

So, many people believe that writers remain locked in their towers pouring over their pages and giving little attention to the outside world. If this were true, then books wouldn’t be able to reach anyone living in the outside world! You’ll find that writers are generally everyday common folk going about various businesses and places.

One of the interests I have long held is music. I hope you enjoy watching me play around on my Irish Low Whistle!

Harem Scarem Fife Tune – Music Room

Hi everyone! This is a well-known fife tune in the Fife and Drum Reenactor world. It is called Harem Scarem and is one of the favorites at the mid-west annual fife and drum event known as Freezer Jam. I hope you enjoy!

Piping on my Irish Low D Whistle: Roslin Castle and Bo Mhin Na Toitean

Here is my next video in my series of playing my Irish low D whistle. These two songs were a little crummy, yet I still consider myself a novice of the instrument. I’m much better on a fife and will probably eventually record videos of my fife playing.

The Irish low D whistle has the same fingerings as the Irish tin whistle only plays in lower octaves. Enjoy!

Piping on My Low Whistle: A Narnian Lullaby and Jesus Lover of My Soul

Hello everyone!

I thought I would begin a musical series playing some of my musical instruments. This instrument is the Low D Irish Whistle. It has the same fingerings as the Irish tin whistle only plays in lower octaves. The two tunes played in this video are A Narnian Lullaby (from Disney’s The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe) and Jesus Lover of My Soul. Enjoy!
