For Those Who Love the Spring

Just three days till Christmas, with hearts beating faster and expectations raising, I thought I would bring some memories of the season-to-come. As I write this post, I am looking out our large Living Room window to at least a foot of snow on the ground, with Christmas day right now forecasting at a high of 25 deg F. and a low of 6 deg F. Tis the season for snowfall!

Yet, I have always found it nice, especially in Michigan, to remember what springtime is like during the cold and harshness of winter. Don’t mistake me! I love winter for what it is and enjoy the snowfall. One of the reasons I do, though (and this is just one of the reasons), is because I can dream of springtime to come, and springtime would not be springtime without a winter to come before it (to at least some degree).

I hope you enjoy the spring videos below! I had nothing to do with the production of these videos, but I love the song of the birds and the rush of the rivers.

The last video below is particularly special because I spent the first eleven years of my life living in southern Indiana, and this video was recorded in southern Illinois. The nature sounds remind me of many a summer evening in Indiana!

Ten Hour Nature Video – Wind in the Pines

Hello everyone! Below is a nature video I recorded behind where I live. I recorded it to gain visuals and sounds of nature and have finally published it just today. Listen to the birds, wind rustling trees and grass, flies, chirping insects, bees, distant cars, and more. I hope you enjoy!

Also, a quick note on my book Treasure on the Southern Moor that is now in the bookstore, I am currently waiting on my complimentary copies to be printed and shipped. As soon as I receive them, I’ll do a video showcasing the book!

A Pine Tree / Spider Web – Nature Blogging

Right after filming my read-through of my eleventh chapter of Treasure on the Southern Moor (find out more information of this book in my bookstore), I saw an interesting looking web blowing in the breeze between the branches of a pine tree. The camera doesn’t pick it up too well, though you can still see where some of the dew or condensation of the morning was still on the web (it was a very foggy morning!). Enjoy the video!

Also, check out the final artwork for my upcoming book!

Dow Gardens Compilation – Nature Blogging

Hello everyone,

Here is a video I published a few days ago. It’s a short reel of several video clips I’ve taken at Dow Gardens over the years. The quality is a little grainy, and this video is in no way conclusive of the vast expanse of the gardens. If you want to see more pictures I’ve taken of Dow gardens, Please check out these two posts: https://conservativecornerstones.com/2017/07/15/dow-gardens-2015-nature-blogging/ and https://conservativecornerstones.com/2017/07/17/dow-gardens-today-nature-blogging/

More Nature Videos / WSC Blindfolded!

Hello all,

Here are three more nature videos I uploaded to my YouTube channel. They were all filmed either in my backyard or just beyond. Hope you enjoy!

And lastly, after posting on my memorization of the Westminster Shorter Catechism, I thought I would film myself reciting them blindfolded to prove it! I took this video just this morning and realized I made a few mistakes, though as I say in the description, I think I kept the mistakes to a minimum, only 10 or 15 at the most. Someday, I may try again and see if I can do it better. I at least spoke the whole recitation under 20 minutes!

Edit: I rerecorded the video and made fewer mistakes. I have the new video posted below (recited in just over twenty minutes this time – probably more comprehensible).

Edit Complete!

The editors have finally returned over my manuscript to me after their edit. Now, I must spend a few weeks approving the work and making any last changes before it’s off to the printers! Please be patient until then. I’m hoping to have Treasure on the Southern Moor in print by September 1st. Be looking on my Bulletin Board (homepage) and in my Bookstore to see when it is released! I will also be posting it on my blog.

This post has been edited to show final artwork:

In the meantime, I’ve been working for a while on other marketing venues for my first book, The Williams House. Just yesterday, I created a conservativecornerstones youtube channel and plan to upload a promotional video six days a week (when I can) on it. Just today I uploaded my first nature video. Enjoy!
